Recalibration for larger tires and wheels

Postby GrampS10Acious » Mon Jul 19, 2010 7:52 am

Hey,
I have finished doing a 4/4 drop on my '92 S-10 and also installed a set of 18x8 wheels. I remember seeing on this forum somewhere about recalibration of ECM so my speedo will be reading correct. The best I can tell I am running 72 mph on the speedo when I am actually running 65mph. I remember a tire store website that had a calculator on it that could tell your speed at any mph with any size tire.
Can anyone entertain me with the info?
Thanks,
Gramps

If you just google "Tire speedometer calculator" I bet you'll find something.
And the only way I really know how to change the speedo on an S10 is with a programmer. Might look into that and see if they offer that option.
